Whilst MeshCam does do 3D profiling, so does Cut3D. The differences being 2.5D or 3D and the price differences. MeshCam is $250 and Cut3D is $300. For most milling purposes 2.5D will do just fine and for $49.99. Personally I don't see the need for 3D milling unless you have a 4 or 5 axis machine at your disposal.
