I don't think this is quite true. I think once you get the correct
syntax to
LILO to reserve the desired amount of memory for the shared memory
region, and find the correct amount to reserve, it works OK.
I think you specify the amount of memory in KB on a 486, and in
MB on a pentium. The page size is different - 4KB on the Pentium,
and maybe 1KB on the 486, I'm not sure. There are commands that
set up segment registers for the shared memory region, and there
might need to be changes in those commands so they map to the
right address and number of pages. I think Arne sent some people
the instructions on how to do this, or posted it to the drop box.

Anyway, if this machine is equivalent to a 75 MHz Pentium, that might
not be enough CPU power to do steppers, and would be marginal
on a servo system. Xemc might do OK, but TkEMC is borderline
on a 100 MHz Pentium.
