A Slo-Syn motor is the 120 Volt synchronous motor made by
Superior Electric. It is made just like a stepper, but with a
pair of 120 Volt phase windings. They use a capacitor to shift
the phase of one winding, to provide the necessary phase
shift to make it run the desired way. Switches can be used to
reverse the direction by reversing the 2nd phase's polarity.
