For the 2A drivers I restricted the max supply to 18VDC s only because I use
a 7805 for +5. With 18VDC input the 7805 gets warm with 24VDCV it gets very
hot. I have run the 2A drivers up to 38VDC. But I used a separate 5vdc
supply for the logic. You could also use a large but inefficient dropping
resistor in series with the 7805 input and use 24VDC.
