Re: [CAD_CAM_EDM_DRO] Stepper motor from Sherline?

Randy,

Looks like a nice motor. The motor has a holding torque of 110 oz/in
and speeds as fast as .5 inches per second can be achieved. Ramping must
be used to achieve the higher step rates. A 24 volt, 2 amp current
limiting chopper design is ample to drive it.

I saw the motors run on Sherline's rotary table at the P.R.I.M.E. show.
No worries!

I've been looking at this motor site, you can find an equivalent motor
and compare it:

http://www.mendonet.com/steppers/nema23.htm

Nema 23 High Performance "Step-Syn" H Series Bi-Polar Stepper Motors.
I'd say it compares to: 232-117-DB, 117 oz/in, 2A, 1.6V, $86. (AND 2,3&
4-motor discounts!) Sounds like a good price. Although I was looking at
the 180 oz/in motors for my next purchase.

Dan (Camtronics) has a motor (new, not surplus):
23-032 8 lead, 126 oz/in, 1.36A $85

PS, I was SURE someone would reply there, NOW I bet you get lottsa
replies!
