There is a specific xxx.ini file that has most of the parameters that
need to be set for your particular configuration (memory size,
I/O port addresses, # of axes in use, type of axes, etc.....)

There will also be a xxxrun file that contains the actual file
locations and a number of other details that rarely need to be
changed. This file (shell script) reads the xxx.ini file that is specified in
the command line that started it, and uses that information to
activate the programs and kernel/RT modules specified.

This is normally in the /usr/local/emc directory - at least on my
system. There are some generic .ini files, like emc.ini and
generic.ini, as well as some more specific ones, like
minimill.ini and bridgeport.ini
