reducing the encoder line count

Jon,
I saw these three facny looking encoders on ebay for $24.95 the set.
Sounded like my kind of numbers. I checked w/ the company Disc merged
into re spec. The tech went off to hunt in the vaults when confronted
w/ an obsolete part number and came back and said the the unit had
1968 lines, and wondered why anyone would want that, but there you
had it.

I just assumed that commonly available software / motion controllers
wouldn't like this oddball number, but I thought I'd buy em anyway.
They look like the kind of thing that would cost $$249.50 each, your
tax dollars at waste. So if it turns out they can be used as is, well
so much the better. They've A,B,not A, not B, index, etc.
