Personally, I need 12 axis control. All of these might not necessarily need
to be actually moving together at the same time. Some would pause while
others moved. I could probably live with two sets of six axis controls,
provided a pause function were added. The pause function (on set A to
receive it's pause signal from set B. Set A would remain paused until
"released by set B). This really shouldn't be all that hard to do since
it's been done for decades uing ordinary limit switches.


What exactly are you referring to when you list "spindle" as an axis Wally?
Standard G-codes already provide for on and off for the spindle.

I'd prefer labeling all the axis as "open". This would allow the operator
to specify which axis was which. This would be ideal for 12 axis control.
