Ron,
At the risk of being a "dumb" guy, consider this (paraphrased from
Mariss' post):
The clue is doing a simple integration of velocity to calculate
position. Assume a velocity of 2,000 steps per second, Interrupts occur
at 1,000 times a second, therefore the motor moves 2 steps on every INT.
Simply add/sub 2 to/from position register.

PS. Smart is nice, Yeah I'd like a FlashCut Eqv., but that's a LOT of
work. This hardware I can get and USE soon!
