Ballendo,
Only the endcaps were slipped off. I did not slide out the rotor.
The bearings are large ball (1/4" id) with a wave spring washer
to force the rotor to one end and put on a side load. I added
2 thin washers to almost close up the wave washer. Before, it was
very easy to shove the shaft into the motor. All very clean.
As long as the coupling will stay put, ther'es no reason why 2
perfectly good motor bearings shouldn't do the job.
