EMC only uses the 4X 'count all edges' mode, although the STG card's
7166 encoder counter chips will do 1x and 2x also.

Some people seem to say they have it working. There is a problem with the
later TkEMC GUIs and the old Red Hat 5.2 with the RT patch. So, I may have
to upgrade sometime.

I think the STG2 is working, but I haven't seen one. The Parallel Port
Motion Control encoder counter and DAC boards are working, and
fully supported by EMC. I haven't started on the digital I/O board, yet.
