In anticipation of your questions, I just posted some aging cast
iron "how, when ,Why" questions to a metalcasting list with some old
timers and hi-tech young'uns. Will post answer(s) when I get them,
since this seems to be pertinent to building cnc machines of some
types.

As to your question, "I wonder if I only wait 2 wks?". Just walk in
to a Harbor Freight store! LOTS of things made from "not-aged"
castings!
