When I was younger, and worked in a machine shop, we spoke
of 'curing' cast iron with a 20 pound sledge. You know when your
done, when...
daylight is no more...
you can't pick up that damn sledge one more time...
and you've already flattened all 24 cans of Bud from the case by
dropping the damn sledge on 'em and ya gotta go the the liquor store
for another case.
Seems that a ong time ago, Bridgeport couldn't deliver enough mills
to fill demand. I'd bet they had tons of castings cureing for months
before fabrication.
