Hi Dan, I have 300 oz in steppers on my mill/drill with acme screws and it
seems to be working pretty good so far. I'm using a 2:1 belt reduction as
well. Are you saying the ball screws take less power to drive even though
they have twice the pitch? The finest pitch I've seen in ball screws is
.2". I've been thinking about converting to ball screws to reduce the
backlash but wasn't sure the motors would be powerful enough since the pitch
would double. Which screws did you use?
