Cable Sources/Recommendations?

Most of the wiring and cabling requirements of the controls I make and
modify are covered by readily available materials such as S cord,
machine tool rated hookup wire and PVC insulated low voltage control
cable. There are two applications for which I've been unable to find
cable materials that I really like. I've modified several Bridgeport
controls and they have had cabling custom made for these applications
which I've reused, but I can't get the same material new.
The first application is cabling to connect motors to their drives. This
one material would be used for both servo systems where there are two
motor wires and two tach wires, and stepper motor systems with four
motor leads. I'd like a stranded, 16g/4 conductor plastic sheathed cable
material arranged as two twisted pairs. The pairs could have individual
foils shields, or there could be one foil shield overall (I'm not really
sure which would be better), either arrangement should include at least
one bare stranded drain wire of approximately 22g. The cable sheath
could be PVC, but neoprene would be good also. Flexibility is important.
I have used SO cord for a stepper system and it worked OK, but I'd
really like to find some shielded cable.
The second application is encoder to control cabling. This needs to be 8
conductor cable arranged as 4 twisted pairs with either individual
shields, or one shield overall (with bare drain wire in either case).
The sheath would probably be PVC, but other materials are OK as long as
they are flexible. I guess I'd prefer 22g conductors for ease of use
with insulated crimp on connectors, but 24g or 26g would certainly be
adequate.
Low cost would be nice, but I'm willing to pay to get really good stuff.
Any thoughts would be appreciated,
Matt
