I could be really happy with the amp you've described, but here are a
few ideas for additional features in descending order of importance (#1
is critical, #2 is desirable, and the rest are gingerbread):

1. Fault Output - lets the control know the amp has been shut down by
its internal protection circuitry.

2. Enable Input - lets the control enable the amp or allow the motor to
freewheel.

3. + & - inhibit inputs - for limit switches (I don't need these, but
other amps I've used have them).

4. Voltage output proportional to motor current - Servo Dynamics has
this on their amps, and Jon Elson's amps had an LED bar graph display on
the card edge.

I've got to save up some money to buy something from you so that I can
get grandfathered in as a customer before the opportunity passes. The
combination of Gecko drives, the parallel port motion controller, and an
easy to use version of the EMC would be a great product if it were
packaged up in a ready to use kit.
