MY PLAN WAS TO USE A 3/4 MINICUTTER ABOUT 3000 RPM AND ABOUT -.600 PER PECK AND A FEED OF 20.IPM. DO YOU THINK THIS IS TO MUCH? THE POCKET HAS A .25 RADIUS IN THE CORNERS AND I WANT TO AVOID CHATTER WHAT DO YOU SUGGEST. YOUR INPUT IS GREATLY APPRECIATED.

Well, I now understand the hole is through the 6.25" dimension. That is still
a serious problem, but I think you can probably get away with it. I'm guessing
this is a CAT-40 type spindle, or better. There are certainly indexable end
mills that are all one piece, except for the insert, that come in a variety of
lengths and extension 'shanks'. I think that would be your best bet for this,
as they offer more rigidity at that kind of extension than an extended shank
consumable end mill in a collet or extension holder.

Wait a minute - how will you get a .25" radius with a 3/4" cutter? Or, is this
the radius where the bottom meets the side? A properly radiused tool will
do that.
