Hi Mariano,
This sounds like a good way - In my case I didn't have much say in the
matter as I had to get it done by a 'friend of a friend' who happens to have
a surface grinder in his garage. The original plate was thicker than I
really needed and so it didn't really make much difference to me but,
nevertheless, it was quite surprising both that the plate had warped so much
from initial machining and that the magnetic chuck was powerful enough to
pull a 1" thick steel plate flat!
