Ian;
I would not have done it that way , I will explain;
I would sit the plate between 2 transfer blocks or hold the plate on a grinding vice
to do the first face, then sit that face on the magnetic chuck and grind the other face to
clean up , then turn it again and remove .001" from the first face , that way it will come
pretty parallel
