Received a post the other day from a gentleman who had read my
previous post and it appears that I am just now rediscovering
a practice which was common place in the use of the horizontal
mill. His post reads as fol:
"Been running 1" x 6" end mills in a holder in mill Horz Mill
for ages
Just grease up the center good. Using non center cutting bits
with
cone shaped hole in end. My mill has a 60 deg dead center as
outer support."
So I guess us newcomers might do well to read up on common
machining practices.
Thank you Sir.
