Yea but. One big problem with DOS networking in today's world. -- Drivers --
While it would be easy
to find a driver for an old ISA network card like a 3Com 3C501 or 3C503 ( if
they haven't removed them all from the ftp sites ), it would be a much
harder job to find ( if they even exist ) a DOS driver for a modern PCI
NIC. I have no ISA NICs anymore. Don't want any either.
In 1989 I had an Arcnet network in my house running Netware 2.something. I
upgraded to Ethernet ( coax ) then to 10 Base T twisted pair up through
Netware 4.something. Then to 100 Base T and Windows NT. Now I have 12
computers all on 100 Base T running Windows 98 / Windows Me / Windows 2000.
No more DOS networking for me. Been there, done that, got plenty of T Shirts
( and even a few coffee cups, mouse pads and other propaganda ).
My DOS machines shall remain 3.5" floppy based sneakernet.

Larry E.
