Hi again,

I am just putting the final touches on a set of plans to "solve" this
mill/drill problem. My procedure uses ONLY the mill drill you have
(no machine shop required) to complete the parts for the mod, which
is working well on one M/D in my shop. The second one is being used
for the plans pics. My website and book(s) are soon to be available...

The plans for this mod are designed for the HF RF30 mill, but will
work with the griz and enco similar models as well. Plans are geared
to a "first time" machinist. I will be posting more soon...

Contact me offlist if interested.

P.S. It does use a groove in the column and David Urwicks triangular
key, which is well proven since the 50's... Remember, you DON'T need
any "outside" tools or machine shop...

P.P.S> Jerry, I don't care for the RF-45. Only 6 speeds. Gears to
break down. But I DO realise it works well for some people. Do you
know the MEW issue? (hopefully my previous post<g> will allow me to
get a copy...)
