Probably not too far. I have the everything-in-one chip pretty much entered and working
on the FPGA design system. I still have to lay out the PC board, but there isn't much on it,
as the big chip does all the work. I demonstrated an implementation of this at the NAMES
show, and it was a real performer on a Sherline with MicroKinetics drivers. Nobody else
indicated they'd ever gotten more than 14 IPM with that setup, and we were running the machine
all day at 30 IPM. And, I didn't really tune it for optimum performance. I hooked it up to
the MicroKinetics box, edited one file to set the speeds and resolution, and it worked
perfectly. I will note that the 20 uS hold on changing the Gecko drives direction input after a step
pulse could louse things up a bit, although the direction should only change at near zero
speed, so maybe that is a non-problem.

So, I think we could have a few prototypes available by July, for sure.
