PortEscap is the US distributor for Escap, a Swiss maker of servo
and instrument motors. I suspect your 4 lead device is a DC permanent
magnet servo motor with DC tach. These are really fine motors. I
have used the smallest ones as tachs, and they work beautifully, with
multiple silver brushes.
