Hi CADMAN,
Just a comment about using a preloaded ballnut - they are longer than
a standard ballnut, and require extra planning if you want to use it
later. The extra length can cut down the travel of the table,
especially the Y axis. This may be a problem for your Z axis also -
if the overall nut is longer, then the screw has to be longer so it
doesn't let the balls fall out when at the farthest extension of the
quill. This additional length on the screw has to go upward where it
might interfere with the casting or main spindle pulley.
Are you using NEMA23 motors? When I set up my internal Z axis it was
with NEMA34's
