Not sure about the terminology of DC feeback motor = a servo.
On the servo motors I have and use the wiring is as follows:
2 wires to the servo motor
4 or 5 wires to the encoder. Ground, 5 VDC, channel A, channel B, and
sometimes index to make 5.
