Hi, well they use data from various scans and make reproductions of skull
and other parts in the medical world all the time. I guess they use a
ultra-violet laser to cure the resin. sometimes they make a skull copy and
then remove the part where bone is in the data and that leaves data to fill
in the hole with a patch made the same way. One of my buddies in California
lost a piece of skull in a motorcycle accident and that is how they made an
exact fit patch. Dental reconstruction and bone/joint reconstruction are
also using these techniques more and more. cul brian f.
