A couple of OEM's have even expressed interest.
As far as StlWork2 is concerned, since it is the most capable
product in it's class and price range, it won't likely be discounted
at all. I guess if you consider that most any program that can do
the same things is over $3000 USD, it is already pretty heavily
discounted. Also it includes a copy of StlTrans. Which not only
translates about a dozen formats to .stl (it is bidirectional too),
but can also create Stl files from scanned point clouds, can develop
contour models from Geographical Survey data, can make 3D tru-type
letters extrusions, and extrusions and beveled contours of DXF
shapes, does simple 2D raster to vector conversions, and 3D height
fields from a bitmap, has built in erosion that will smooth the
abrupt transition edges from one level to another, and has
independent scaling of all axes, rotation, and translation, with
updating of the model.
We are allowing all purchasers of the original StlWork to upgrade to
the new program at no cost. I also suspect that we may offer a
discount to our beta testers, but that has not been finalized yet.
It might be limited to those that have given us feedback. StlWork is
still in Beta, but will probably be released with documentation in
about 2 weeks, maybe 3. We do plan to have a contest announcement,
so there will be a chance for a person or two to get a really good
deal ;-)
