One buys a small "wire wrapping" tool and some kynar #30 gauge wire. It's
then a matter of stripping about one inch of insulation from each end of the
wire, placing the stripped end of the wire into a hole in the wire wrapping
tool, inserting the terminal to be wrapped into the other hole in the tool,
and spinning the tool. As the tool is spun, the wire is wrapped around the
post.
It sounds a lot more than the actual process.
As far as your current jumpers, it sure sounds like they're bad jumpers.
They don't necessarily "click" but should fit tightly onto the posts.
