I have on more than one occasion received jumpers that are missing the
internal contacts... the plastic shell by itself would fall off???

Haven't finish soldering the board yet. They jus fall off when the
board is manipulated - there is no "click" feeling when they are
press on, so it must be from a lack of friction/tightness.
