R8 Snap Change

I have one of these on my manual Bridgeport. I love it. The device on top is a rotational lock that prevents a tool change while the spindle is rotating. It is a one-handed system. This means that you can catch the tool holder ( adapter ) with the other hand. Just don't get cut ! The collapsible draw bar is tensioned by Belleville washers. When the quill is lowered, and you are holding the adapter in place, it locks it in and you are ready to cut. To release the adapter, you raise the quill and give the handle a brisk snap near the fully retracted position - this pops it loose.
