These are NEMA frame sizes, used for all standard motors of any type. It
basically qualifies ths ize mounts you need.

To a degree. Some motors have a lot more length and power but are still
same frames. They may have the same shafts too. Shafts are usually much
bigger than the power produced needs.

Look up 'stepper motor' on the web and you'll find lots of examples.
