Dan,
You don't need a printer, just do the following from the DOS prompt (NOT
windoze dos shell):
dir > lpt1
dir > lpt2
dir > lpt3
dir > lpt4
until you get an error message that says: Write fault error writing
device lptx (x being the number of the printer port you attempted to
write to)
that will be the port which is active.
The others which are inactive will return a "File not found" error.
