Dan:

You might want to check your CMOS to ensure that the printer port
mode is not affecting your machine. The CMOS settings can be set for EPP
etc..on many motherboards, while Windows has no problems with the printer
port controlling an interrupt in this way, some versions of DOS may not like
it.
