Hello Friends,
as I understand the Newall system is like this.
Inside the reader head are a couple of coils that measure inductance's.
The bar is a tube filled with a kind of bearing balls.
So every 1/2" you get max. inductance which serves as reference point.
The dales of the sinus curve are calculated backward to intermediate
travel.
The system is incredibly tough and safe for the shop. A good friend
doesn't want any other system any more.

Only disadvantage is that the local distributor is charging a fortune
for small systems and doesn't understand even technical basics.
So I would love to get a system directly from old UK.
Does someone have a good dealer over there?
