We cut Corian (An Acrylic Resin based material) @ 16000 RPM on a 3 1/4 HP
router. As single flute bit will cut very fast, but give you a rough cut,
for smooth cuts use a 2 flute bit. Many production router bits have a 15
degree down-shear design. Make sure that the router bit is carbide tipped,
not solid carbide (The carbide tips seem to leave a small gap so the cutter
doesn't get gumed up). There are also spiral flute designs for CNC machines.
The best place to look for router bits is in an Armana catalog, they have a
large selection for plastics, and they are good quality bits.
