CAREFUL! You really need to have an isolation transformer in there.
It is EXTREMELY dangerous to run plating, anodizing, EDM, etc. power
supplies without isolation! Most variacs are adjustable autotransformers,
and do not isolate the output from the line. (Autotransformers have the
same characteristic.)
