More DRO questions..

Ok, thanks to you guys, I'm looking at using a magnetic strip type
(incremental) encoder setup to do my DRO.. How do I mount the mag
(or other strip?) in the case of the mag strip it looks like I might
just be able to stick it on there, but with the optical type, it
looks like it needs some kind of holder and shield?
