To be able to get high spindle speeds with robust motors (ie ac types) then
high frequencies are required. A 2pole ac motor on 60Hz will give
3600rev/min and if you double the frequency you can get 7200rev/min and so
it goes on as frequency increases but still using a cage wound or similar
robust motor.
