Darrell,
Take a look at Plasma Cam's way of holding the hand torch.

Click on the photo in the upper left corner to enlarge it.
Not a bad idea.
I bought a machine torch along with my hand torch on
my Hypertherm Max 900. Irony is I have yet to build
the xy table for the torch, too many other projects.
Not 100% sure why the hand torch is rated for 5/8"
thick steel, yet the machine torch rating is 3/8".
I still need to get documentation for the Machine
Torch!
TRIVIA: Pulled the Plasma Cutter out last weekend from
it's hiding place. Needed to cut some 3/16" plate for
a project for the TIG welder. Every time I flipped on
the on/off/breaker on the Hypertherm 900... it would
reset after 10 seconds. Darn. Only clue was the "line
voltage LED" seemed to turn on for a moment before it
shut down.
Spent a good part of a day checking all panels/electrical
connections/neutral feeds to no avail. Finally pulled
out the Sawzall to make a few cuts while grumbling about
that Plasma Cutter!
Didn't dawn on me until the following day. Last thing
I had done was replaced all the consumables last time I
used it. BINGO, forgot to install the inner cone! Safety
feature would reset the power switch. The LED was just
a flicker as it would power down... but sent me on a
wild goose chase. Actually not a bad idea to check all
the panel and breakers once a year... but.
Cheers,
