I would also be interested in seeing how others attach their torch.

My torch is attached to a piece of 1/4x4 plate about 12" long. I made a
ring
large enough to clear the screw threads on the end of the torch, but
still act
as a stop at the end of the screw threads. Welded the ring in place at
lower
right corner of plate at an appropriate angle. The sides of my torch are
flat
just in front of the trigger, and are also max thickness at that point,
so at
that point I put a side clamp (2"x3" plate, clamps torch against larger
plate
with standoffs). The standoffs actually allow about 1/100" slop so I'm
not
putting pressure on the torch body, just keeping it in one place. I tie
down
the back end of the torch with two cams made out of 1" round stock. Cam
in
that the hole through the 1" stock for the hold down bolt is off center.
This
way I have a small amount of up and down adjustment on the torch angle.

The 4x12 plate is welded perpendicular to another plate which is slotted
for
the screws that mount it to the gantry arm.

Probably clear as mud,
