If you want to use the Gecko G3X0 drives then you have it a little off.

1 - The Shoptask does not need the power of a NEMA 34. I have one axis on
mine with a NEMA 23 and the other 2 axes with something that is slightly
smaller than a NEMA 34. You will have to make adapters to fir the Shoptask
as it is set up for NEMA 34 motors.

2 - The Geckos only use Brushed DC motors, not brushless.

3 - For a Shoptask with 5 tpi ball screws and a standard 2:1 belt reduction
a 200 - 250 line (800 - 1000 count per rev) encoder is as high as you will
want. There is absolutely no advantage to using a very high line count and
then using G340s to multiply the steps.

4 - My Shoptask is using 24 VDC motors and they are working fine.

5 - No gearhead at all

6 - X and Y need about 60 in/oz continuios and about 300 peak. Try for about
50% more on the Z.

Most of my servo motors came from E-bay. I have also gotten some that
Camtronics sells and they worked great. Send an e-mail to Dan, he can fix
you up for well under $200 per axis on the motor and encoders. Accept that
in hobby stuff surplus is a great money saver.
