Arne,

This might be totally off but here's something to check- look at the
lilo.conf file (/etc/lilo.conf). I screwed mine up one time and got LI
instead of LILO. It should probably look something like:

boot=/dev/hda
map=/boot/map
install=/boot/boot.b
prompt
timeout=50
image=/boot/vmlinuz-2.0.36-0.7
lable=linux
root=/dev/hda1
read-only

This is for a system that's not dual booting and doesn't have Rtlinux
installed.
