Ted:
Could you define what is meant by "Converstational programming?" Is this the
same as, for example, TurboCNC's allowing you to enter and execute one line
of G-Code at a time? Or is it simething further than that? Perhaps a few
example conversations would be helpful to my understanding.
|My experience during my employed life was with fanuc and bos controllers,
|dolphin and camtec, off line CAD/CAM programming. In my considerd opinion
|'G' codes, in the "industrial sector" are standadised. and there are
|several US and EU standards covering these codes. Since retiring I
|have used
|Turbocnc, MAXNCPRO, and MAXNCDLX, all use what I consider STANDARD G CODES
|for programming
Since each of these programs has a slightly different dialect, except for
some of the basic functions, I'd hardly consider them standardized. There's
just enough difference among most of these interpreters that you've got to
edit the G-Code file before you can use it. If things were truly
standardized, there'd be no need to break out the editor.
