conversational programming uses a menu and prompt/dialog type editor
to generate the part program interactively ,like AutoEdit NC from
http://www.betatechnical.com/ for example
you select an operation (spot drill ,pocket mill ,etc) and the editor
gives you a fill-in-the-blanks dialog or prompts you for numbers on
the input line ( starting point in X? ____ )
when the block is filled in the editor pastes the code into the part file and
you can move on to select the next operation or backplot what you have
so far
Hurco had tried to patent the concept and was extorting money from
everyone until Haas challenged it and won
