Good thoughts. One caution is that the EMC compares the running ini and var
files with those stored on disk when it shuts down . The new will be written
if they are different from the disk versions. Someone suggested that your
flash be large enough so that you are not always re-writing over the same
place.

Have you looked at the LTSP stuff and netboot?
