EMC Black Box

Hi List,
I did follow the discussion about building a black box running EMC under RTL
linux.
I did some experiments by picking the trajectoryplanning and interpolating
stuff and let it run on a embedded system using a 80188EB microcontroller.
Because the system did not have a math chip I had a cycle time of about 25
up to 40 mS to interpolate 3 axes. Not realy good enough to run things
smooth.
Rewriting it to fixed point math is one solution, running it on a system
with matchip is another one.
Now I have a plan to run it under dos on a pentuim (PC104). The only reason
I want to use DOS is the quick startup procedure and the small footprint of
the operating system. I wonder if it is possible to skip the logon and
password while booting a linux box ??
So my plan is to run traject planner, interpolator and PID on a DOS box, the
GUI and interpreter on a windows machine. the connection between the 2
systems is a serial connection at 115K.
Any ideas, comments ?
