Hi Ian

Well, I tried to "computer draw" a diagram to put in here with no
success. I'll try to describe it.

If you look at the small circuit board (on the print head) with the
encoder mounted on it there are 2 little "wings" that hold it in place.
With them at the bottom you'll see a cluster of 5 contacts near the top.
The bottom left is a data connection. The bottom right is positive.
The top left is negative. The top right is data. I hope this helps
you; I'm looking at the etched side of the board. To help clarify there
are 2 connections at the bottom of the board that you can trace to the
pos & neg terminals on the encoder. They have a capacitor mounted
across them on the other side of the board.

If I haven't been clear enough I'll sketch it and try scanning it but
haven't had my scanner hooked up in months. It'll be next week before I
will have time to do so but let me know if you need it!

Haven't had time to finish mine yet to hook it up so no idea of
resolution.

The printer this one came off was a DJ540 so your info would be spot on.
What resolution do you get from the one you have?
