Lloyd,
I have used the first (of your links) for many years. It used to be
sold as Black and decker. It was available as 5.5A and 8.0A (the 5a
was home use and 8a was pro use.) I have used both. 1/4" collet only.
Works well. Noisy. 3-1/2 inch diameter body.
A similar choice often seen is the porter/cable 690. It has the same
diameter, and is nearly the same power and speed. 1/4, 3/8,1/2"
collets. Also noisy. 4-1/4 diameter body.
The porter/cable 7518 is the "standard" in many lower cost cnc
routers. Rated at 3+ HP, with soft start and 5 speeds; it is a good
choice for a spindle. Also noisy, but sounds "better" than the
smaller, as the freq. of the noise seems lower...
You can cut all your materials listed with any of these.
Figure "street" prices of about $160USD for the smaller size, and
about $275-350USD for the 7518.
The bosch 2hp is gaining popularity.
There are a few die grinder and laminate trimmer type tools (similar
to your 3rd link) used in some cnc tools (mostly European, that I've
seen). One advantage of these is the 42? mm "mounting ring" near the
cutter end. This is also found as std. on drills and other electric
tools, so you can change the spindle motor to suit what you are
doing. The routers in this class have less power though...
Hope this helps.
