Hi Jan,
all AC motors are designed to operate
on a specific volts to Hertz ratio.
if you change one, you must change the
other in the correct ratio.
4,000 hz from a 'standard' 110 VAC 60 hz
motor is possible.
If you think of it, the motor has no reference
to time. and we do. all it knows it that
for each x volts:X hertz ratio, it spins a
certan number of revolutions. All we are doing
is change the time frame for the motor.
Kind of out there in the either but
then does anybody know what time it is ??
The better Variable speed drives can easly
run a motor 200 % faster than the motor nameplate.
As always, motor heat and bearing design are
the real world limiting factors. yes applied power too.
Dave
ps: If anybody wants to pick apart this very
brief description, please be informative
and as to the physics you are arguing about.
